Five Tips for Picking a Chick's Porn Name

1. Using a different spelling of a Hollywood star's name will get you tons of media attention, but make sure you've got a ferocious lawyer, because chances are good that your namesake will not be flattered. For an example, see Katee Holmes.

2. Generally, you're going to need both a first and last name, unless you pick something so boldly awesome and unique that you can get away with just one name. Belladonna gets away with this, as do Cytherea and Strokahontas. A regular-sounding name will never cut it for this tactic.

3. Make sure you pick something that's legal/acceptable to print on flyers. Courtney Cummz is often asked to change her last name when she does feature dancing gigs at strip clubs around the country. Courtney Cummings, anyone?

4. Like the popularity of baby names, the popularity porn star names have an ebb and flow to them. Currently, Eva & Ava seem to be everywhere, so steer clear of those.

5. If you're going to pick a name that alludes to a talent you have, go with cute instead of nasty: Flower Tucci is a totally cute name with a nod to her anal abilities - Blossom Butthole would be pushing the limits of good taste. Ok, yeah, it's porn, but a little subtlety goes a long way when it comes to naming yourself.
