Bi the Way (film screening) - Friday, June 6th at 5.45 pm as part of NewFest 2008. AMC Loews 34th St Theater 13. Bisexuality has long been the subject of suspicion and dismissal by some lesbians, gays, and straights. But are perceptions of bisexuality changing, in part due to pop cultural influences? Are younger people in American today embracing the idea, if not the exact label, of bisexuality? Bi the Way takes an entertaining and informative trip around the US to find out, stopping at various points along the way to explore the opinions of a variety of people, including Michael Musto and Dan Savage, while focusing the camera on five main subjects who each have been open to exploring relationships with both men and women. Anna Kustera Gallery, 520 West 21st street If anyone could amass a fantastic collection of erotic photography, it would be the legendary Eric Kroll, whose 1994 Taschen book Fetish Girls has sold 200,000 copies. A Los Angeles photographer who specializes in fetishistic erotica with a sense of humor, he is now exhibiting for the frist time at the Anna Kustera Gallery a selection of photographs by Elmer Batters, Weegee and himself that show just how sexy, intriguing, funny and original the genre can be. FREE opening, show remains up until July 3rd.
