Sliquid Organics: Great Lube that's Good For You
Posted at 2:18 PM Jul 15, 2008
So I know last week I poked a little fun at the greening of sex toys a la Bliss Toy Box's Eco-Plug, but I do think that all industries should keep an eye towards becoming greener - especially when those industries produce things that come in contact with people's mucous membranes (how's that for sexy-talk).
I stumbled across Sliquid's H2O for the first time about four years ago in a sex shop in the West Village. At the time, I'd been using Slippery Stuff, but I was on the lookout for a new water-based and glycerin-free lube. I fell in love at first stroke? squirt? application? - or however you're supposed to refer to the use of lube. Sliquid does a good job of creating lube with a consistency similar to a lady's natural juices, and it doesn't get sticky or taste nasty, either.
Dean, the company's owner, is a burly guy with a booming voice - not exactly the person you might imagine being behind a company that specializes in glycerin-free, paraben-free lubes. But that's what he does, and he's created what I consider the best product on the market.
Sliquid's latest product, and the inspiration for this post, is a line of Sliquid Organics. There are three varieties: water-based, water-based warming, and water-silicone hybrid. Each of those links has the ingredients list for each of the lubes too. And if you've got suggestions for improvement, I have no doubt that Dean would listen.
