Sex Blogger Spotlight: Babylon Visited

Career Highlights: I had a different blog for about three years before Steve and I started Babylon Visited. We decided to blog together after we became engaged. To be honest, I had read a few political blogs before I read some sex blogs. The idea of a blog intrigued me and writing about sex felt less tawdry than writing about politics.

After leaving a few comments on a blog, a blogger encouraged me to start my own blog. Like sex, blogging was fun, free and had zero calories. What more could you ask for?

Steve and I are some sub-category of polyamorous. What that is, I hesitate to say. Categories are overrated. Right now, we're exploring the so-called 'hot wife/girlfriend' thing and find it an enjoyable addition to our sex lives. While that has its emotional ups and downs, I try to keep things generally light, with a dose of humor. Exploring the emotional depths of sex and relationships is important but that niche is filled. Many people do it and many people do it well. We write some serious posts but for the most part enjoy sharing the lighter side of our misadventures.

As for blogging highlights, Babylon Visited is only seven months old. Since I view it as an extension of my first blog, I will mention a few memorable moments from the earlier venture. One day I received over 3,000 hits. I had no idea what was going on. I then found out that Violet Blue had selected a post for Fleshbot. I had no idea what Fleshbot was but I knew Violet Blue. It was like getting a great author to write a blurb for your book jacket. I was also featured on Playboy Radio. That was pretty cool as well.

This recent post was pretty tongue-in-cheek but turned out to be fairly popular, How to Keep Your Man Happy....

True Lust: My biggest turn-on has always been pleasing others. Nothing get me going quite like seeing my partner enjoying themselves. I guess I'm a giver. Beyond that, personality is huge with me. A man that is self-confident enough to make fun of himself is a huge turn-on. If a man knows when to take control, but doesn't overdo it, that's a good thing as well. That ties in nicely with my distaste for control freaks, who always lack self-confidence. Conversely, on those occasions that I've been with women, I like the bad girls.

Physically, nothing beats a good hair pull, a slap on the ass and some naughty talk to get me purring. In fact, I once wrote a post on the Naughty Talk that is a favorite of ours, called On Naughty Talk. Here's an excerpt:

Some, Steve for instance, use naughty talk for orders and questions: "Suck my cock.....You like giving head, don't you....." Others, Luke for instance, like to describe and define: "You're such a slut....You're my bitch..."

My physical reaction to naughty talk sends a clear signal to my partner that such verbal play is more than acceptable. For me, it's all in good fun. It's foreplay. It always stops at the bedroom door, or the door of whichever room you happen to be in at the time.

Others do not like the naughty talk.

The real question for a man is, how does one determine if naughty talk is OK and the parameters of such talk? I can get off being called a whore in the heat of the moment, particularly if I'm acting like one. On the other hand, a partner once got over-heated and thought cunt-face was appropriate. A flag was called on that play.
