Naked City TV 15 Preview: Clips Show!

nctv15.jpg

On Monday I'll be posting the fifteenth episode of Naked City TV, and I thought I'd do something a little different with it this time around. Yes, it'll be a clips show, with me hosting and actually being in front of the camera.

I started getting serious about online video late last year when I launched my all-review video blog, Live Girl Review. It's a pretty basic format - I sit in my office and talk to the camera about books, movies, porn, or sex toys. I've got more than 60 episodes of that show online now, but when the opportunity to edit Naked City came along, I knew I wanted to do a more in-depth, documentary style video show. And I think I've been getting the hang of video making in the process.

In Monday's episode, I'll talk a bit about some of the behind the scenes fun of making Naked City TV, plus I'll show some clips that didn't end up in the final versions of each episode.

Naked City TV Sneak Peek: Christen Clifford

christen3.jpg

I met Christen Clifford for the first time in December 2005 at a panel we were on at the Museum of Sex. The panel was in celebration of the release of the massive Disinformation anthology Everything You Know About Sex is Wrong - I've got a piece in the book titled "My First Fetish: Or, How I Fought Mediocrity," while Christen has a piece in the book called "Baby Love," which is also the title of her first one-woman show. "Baby Love" is Christen's exploration of a topic that I haven't heard anyone else talk about in such a powerful way: the sensual and sometimes erotic physicality of being a mother.

Her new one-woman show, "Fuck Me Like it's 1945, a.k.a. (What I Know About) My Parents' Sex Life, a.k.a. the elderly sexuality project" premiers at P.S. 122 on June 19th and runs through June 25th. This week I got the chance to see her first run-through in front of an audience, plus interview her about the two different pieces and her perspective on the issues of family and sexuality.

Naked City TV Sneak Peek: Eric Kroll

Interviewing%20Eric%20KrollNC.jpg

This afternoon I interviewed Eric Kroll for next week's episode of Naked City TV (which will be the 10th ep, whew!). Eric has a show that opens tonight at the Anna Kustera Gallery - it's all about his collection, and features his photos as well as naughty pictures by Batters and Weegee.

He surprised me by bringing company. Molly D'Amour, whose bra-changing antics you see in the photo above, is one of his models. They had a big suitcase of pinup dresses too (which are all part of Eric's collective, not her personal wardrobe) and Molly changed and did peculiar things in the background while Eric talked in the foreground. It's the first time I've shot something kind of conceptual for Naked City TV, and it was made conceptual by my subject. He was very amused by the prospect of confusing and distracting the viewer with a pretty girl in the background.

The opening for the show is tonight, for those interested in mixing and mingling.
